These are some of the pictures of Loren's pumpkin from this year. He wasn't able to finish it because it got to be way too big of a project. If he had finished it, it would have ended up taking about 100 hours. Add to that the fact that it was starting to shrivel. With all the intricacy shrivelling is

pretty much the worst thing for it. Loren has done amazing pumpkins almost every year we've been married. I thought the Star Wars one the first year was impressive, then he did a Lord of the Rings pumpkin the next year and I was "wow-ed". He has pushed his limits each year and learned how to preserve the pumpkin for as long as possible. He spends so much time on the design, then he does an amazing job at transfering the design. He uses pins to transfer the design then an exacto knife to cut it out. Each step of the process loses some of the quality of the design so it takes a huge amount of focus and detail orientation.

He'll probably never read this, but I'm so proud of him using his talents and in particular for this post, I'm proud of him pushing his limits to learn to create something the best that he can.
