Haircut... *sob*

Have you ever known something was probably not a good idea, but you did it anyway? You thought it was something that you needed to do. You were putting it off and thought it was because you didn't want to acknowledge that it needs to be done. Then you do it and realize that you were putting it off because it was just a bad idea? Well... I wish I hadn't cut Ethan's hair! I was going to just give it a little bit of a trim, but the only thing I had to trim it with(besides scissors... which I wasn't even going to mess with on this) was a razor that is intended to "trim" a beard. It's part of a set I bought for Loren because it has a shaver for stubble too, among other things. Anyway, Ethan moved while I was cutting and had a pretty short STRIPE across his head. So... I figured, why not? and I just cut all his hair to about 1/4".

Now comes the sobbing part. Why? A) I miss his soft baby hair! I used to put my face on his head and feel his hair against my cheek and lips. It always smelled so good! His hair is kind of "prickly" now. B) He looks so grown up! What happened to my BABY!? I've always been more attached to my own hair than I should be, so it doesn't surprise me that I'm so attached to Ethan's. But, at the same time, I'm wondering if it was the hair, or the baby-ness. Either way, my heart hurts because I miss both!

I kept a good bit of his hair(and there was plenty to choose from) to put in his baby book. I will also have to put in these before and after pictures.

I've experienced exactly what you were describing at the beginning of this post!

Ethan does look more grown up with his hair cut, but don't worry--hair grows back!
